Press notice: Web presentation, 15th October

On the 15th of October we are officially launching our webpage www.valdegovia.org with a series of acts which will inform people about the initiative, teaches about information technology and also about how its usage could contribute to development in Valdegovía.




The conferences start with a media presentation during the morning of the 15th of October and will continue into the afternoon with an event at the Valdegovía Municipal Library, in which you will learn about the functions and advantages of having your own web page. There will be promotion and web design specialists at the meeting, which will be begin at 6:30pm and finish with a business dinner.



The final conferences will be technical conferences, which will take place on the 16th, 19th, 20th, 27th and 28th, at the Municipal Library between 7pm and 9pm, and is aimed towards people who want to utilise the web for their business. During these few days, a personal tutor will explain how you can make the most out of the web by introducing news, preparing offers and managing the page.



www.valdegovia.org is an initiative which works with the Association of Businessmen and the Tourist and Hotel Association, which improves the visibility of businesses located in the region. The page tries to promote existing businesses in Valdegovía by improving their Internet visibility and publicising their services and products.



www.valdegovia.org specialises in tourist promotion and includes a majority of restaurants, bars and accommodation in Valdegovía. It enables visitors to find out what Valdegovía has to offer and why you should stay a few days to enjoy the surroundings.
One of the advantages of the web is that it is a useful tool, allowing businesses to include and edit news and offers, so clients are always up to date about the services and products on offer.



The site also contains an array of videos about Valdegovía and we are of course grateful to those who have sent us videos and photos. We have created a channel on Youtube which includes the videos sent to us.



Our region is one of the least known in the Basque Country so the potential of this area as a tourist destination is yet to be discovered. In addition to the amazing countryside, a number of tourist services have appeared over the last few years. Eating well in Valdegovía or finding good accommodation is far from difficult; the local gastronomy offers fantastic flavours whilst cottages, agritourism and campsites provide a welcome place of sanctuary and relaxation. Our task now, is to let people know we exist and that we offer a good selection of services. We are utilising a city marketing initiative which aims to create a quality tourist brand and to promote the services in and around the region. As always, it is not only a question of offering good services but also a question of marketing and promotion.



With this presentation we conclude the first phase of the project: to provide all businesses in Valdegovía with a web space which enables them to promote and publicise their products and services. In the second phase, we are going to improve the applications that allow us to communicate with our visitors, including blogs, videos and photo galleries. In addition, during the second phase, we will also market tourist packages that could be purchased using PayPal.



So we hope you come on the 15th of October and we encourage you to visit our website and post your opinion on the project. And we encourage those with business initiatives to join our website.
