The region of Salinas de Añana will celebrate next weekend on the 13th of July, la Feria de la Sal, an event aimed at supporting the candidacy of the cultural landscape of the Valle Salado de Añana to the UNESCO World Heritage.
Among the events organized by the Fundación Valle Salado , the city hall of Añana and the Society of the Gatzagak Salt Makers, the highlight will be the sound and light show "The memory of the Valley", which will take place on Saturday the 13th at 22:00 pm (entry from 21:30).
In "The memory of the Valley" , local volunteers embody, in their own eras, people from prehistory until the present, through the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages, maintaining the history and the tradition of the Valle Salado. The show, which lasts an hour, talks about the life of a salt maker who moved from Salinas as salt activity was in decline. On hearing the news that the Valle Salado is a candidate for the Unesco World Heritage his memories come back so that again he is able to walk the paths that marked his childhood.
