Solidarity Meeting in Valdegovía: Presentation of the “Nam Nala” Association

 

Next Saturday, November 22nd 2025, the Valdegovía municipal library will be the meeting point for an inspiring initiative. At 6:00 PM, the official presentation of "Nam Nala" will take place, a non-profit association dedicated to cooperation projects in West Africa.

A Heartfelt Project Rooted in Northern Spain
Under the motto "Nam Nala" (which means 'I miss you'), the association, founded in 2024, aims to continue the solidary work started in 2019 in Senegal and later expanded to Gambia. Its members, hailing from the Basque Country, Galicia, and Asturias, comprise professionals from the health sector and other fields, joining forces to carry out annual solidarity trips.

The talk, organized by Mila Montoya, an attending physician in the Emergency Department of the HUA in Vitoria-Gasteiz, will be a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the scope and impact of these projects.

The Speakers
The event will feature several of Mila's colleagues, who will share their experiences and the dedication with which they prepare these trips throughout the year:

Rocío Guinea: Attending Physician in the Emergency Department of the HUA, Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Michel Pérez: Occupational Risk Prevention Technician at Cruces University Hospital, Bilbao.

Jose Javier Oribe: Attending Physician in the Emergency Department of the HUA, Vitoria-Gasteiz.
