Next Friday, May 23rd at 7:00 PM, the Valdegovía Town Hall Cinema Hall will host a talk titled “The Inns Along the Road from Miranda to Osma”, presented by researcher Juan Carlos Abascal.
This free and open event will delve into the historical role of “ventas”—small rural inns that offered shelter, food, and rest to travelers and merchants journeying between Miranda de Ebro and Osma. These now-vanished or repurposed establishments were once essential landmarks on traditional travel and trade routes across northern Spain.
“These inns were more than just places to sleep—they were meeting points, hubs of exchange, and crucial to survival on the road. Recovering their history means recovering a part of our rural identity,” explains Juan Carlos Abascal.
The talk is organized by the Gaubea Town Council and the Valdegovía Tourism Board, as part of their ongoing commitment to promoting the region’s cultural heritage.
